T-Mobile Video Chat for Android

Ok so while searching through the Android Market I came across "T-Mobile Video Chat by Qik". This is an app which allows users to video chat with one another:

T-Mobile Video Chat by Qik
Description:
T-Mobile Video Chat powered by Qik brings powerful video capabilities to your phone so you can share life's moments as they happen.
- Two-way live Video Chat with your phone contacts
- Send Video Mail to friends & family
- Record & instantly share videos to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube

Latest version: 0.04.30.29 (for all Android versions)

Although the T-Mobile G2 doesn't have a front end camera, I still wanted to try Qik even though it has a *WORKS ONLY WITH T-MOBILE MYTOUCH 4G* label. After first download and run it worked fairly well, no issues and no force close warnings. After a few minutes of messing with it, its does not work at all for the T-mobile G2. It looks like its working but it isn't streaming the camera feed. Time to uninstall.

For now I move on to keep trying to find a video chat software that works for the T-Mobile G2.

Next Software I came across:

Tango Video Calls by Tango
Description:
Tango brings you free video calls on Android phones and iPhones over 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi! Tango is an easy to use video calling service that connects people around the world. Say to your family and friends “let’s Tango” and have fun with video calling. http://tango.me/

Ok so naturally my stubbornness forced me to continue searching for the right video chat software for my T-mobile G2. Since Qik failed me and all the other developers want to charge for everything, I downloaded Tango, since its free and has good reviews and 4 stars. Its installed and ready to go, just need to find someone to chat with so I texted my brother-in-law so he can install it also to try.

So the UI is very simple and easy to use, and anyone who has Tango installed and registered will be automatically added to your contacts. It also has an invite tab to send emails or SMS's to friends on your contact list. From what I read it is also available for IPhone users aswell.

So after testing it out with my brother-in-law, Tango is a really great software and compensates for whatever connection you have. It also utilizes the built in mic and speakers on the phone for sound. Although it is hard to watch and communicate with only a back end camera, it is still a fun app to have.
